Oakland Surge Not Reflected in World Series Odds

They are the hottest team in baseball, but still whopping +5000 underdogs to win the World Series.

Just how long the Oakland A's remain off bettors' radar remains to be seen but after their seventh straight win Wednesday (by a football score of 16-0 over Toronto), it can't be very long.

Oakland is a +105 underdog, as Tom Milone pitches against Aaron Laffey today with the A's aiming to sweep the injury-depleted Jays.

MLB: Best & Worst at the All-Star Break

The Philadelphia Phillies, the preseason favorites to win the World Series, were the worst bet in baseball through the first half.

The Phillies are down $2,390 on the moneyline at the All-Star Break and are the only team to be down more than two grand. They were terrible at home (-$2,030) and as a favorite (-$1,688). Even Roy Halladay has struggled, costing bettors who backed the Phillies in the two-time Cy Young Award winner’s 11 starts $673.
